| Prayatna is an NGO started in 1997 for mentally challenged people to provide overall development in physical, personal, emotional and social areas. Our teaching methods are totally personalised depending on each childs requirement. Hence we draw from conventional as well as alternative methods as and when required.
We provide a multi faceted education which includes Functional Academics, Self Help Skills, Personality Development, Socio Emotional Skills as well as Vocational Training.

Other than this our kids are taught pottery, survival cooking, functional academics, candle making, personality development, choice making,
self help skills, discrimination skills, language & communication ,
block printing and much more…….
Presently, we have 50 students between the ages of 3 and 55.
PRAYATNA was founded with the ideal of “NO ADMISSION CRITERIA”.
This means that any person with any kind of a challenge can join us regardless of the type of disability, financial background or age. We are proud of the fact that in the thirteen years of our existence, we have not turned away a single student despite our various constraints.
The key word at PRAYATNA is ABILITY and not DISABILITY.
